We highly recommend that you vacuum your rug once a week. However, care must be taken if the rug has fringes. It is not wise to vacuum the fringes as they may pull and cause damage to your rug. Regular vacuuming keeps your rug looking new, keeps dust from accumulating and more importantly, it helps to avoid moth problems. If by accident you spill any liquid onto the rug, please use a damp paper towel and remove it quickly. Tapping the spill is the best course of action. Please refrain from dragging the paper towel along the stained area as this will cause the stain to get further into the rug. With dark liquids, please use a moist towel along with very little soap and water to remove the stain. For additional care, a proper rug pad will ensure the longevity of your rug. Rug pads help to prevent unnecessary movement of your rug and prevent you from slipping on the rug. Based on the foot traffic of the room, it is recommended that you rotate your rug every 6 months for a balanced wear. This also ensures that the colors and designs stay bring and even throughout the rug. It is not recommended to expose your rug to sunlight on a regular basis as this might cause the colors to fade in certain areas. Following these simple rules for rug care and handling will ensure the life of your rug for many years to come.
